FAQs
How do I become a patient?
Have you ever had an experience where a provider just wasn’t “a good fit” for you? Maybe your personalities or styles didn’t mesh…or maybe the opposite - you have a provider that you just love, a favorite among a group or practice. Because we work closely with our clients, we want to ensure “a good fit”. The purpose of our Discovery Call is to gain an understanding of your health concerns & goals, and explain how we operate to support people in achieving their health goals. If you are interested in becoming a patient, you may book a Discovery Call by clicking here.
Does SAFM only test genetics?
No! SAFM offers a variety of functional medicine tests because it is crucial to determine how one’s genetic variations are affecting their health “downstream”. We prefer a comprehensive approach to patient care. Therefore, we can also assess hormones, gut health, organic acids, heavy metals, and more using blood tests, stool, urine, and saliva.
Can SAFM serve as my Primary Care Provider (PCP)?
No. At SAFM, we recognize the value and importance of allopathic medicine where and when it’s needed. We encourage all of our clients to have a Primary Care Provider (PCP), and we are happy to collaborate with them. We do not offer ‘sick’ or ‘emergency’ virtual visits.
Do you accept insurance?
No. Most holistic and functional medicine services are not covered by insurance. In choosing to break away from the conventional health care model, we do not accept insurance. We do, however, accept FSA & HSA.
Do you work with kids?
Yes!
Do you do Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)?
No. At this time, SAFM does not offer HRT. However, there are a number of ways to address hormone imbalances without the use of HRT.
What are some of the concerns SAFM addresses?
Fatigue, digestion/reflux/bowel irregularities/intestinal dysbiosis/leaky gut, hormone imbalances, mood, weight management, nutrition, supplementation, sleep, pain, autoimmunity, inflammation, cardiovascular health, cognitive health, bone health, overall health optimization, and more.
